This was a large-scale external renovation built to make the most of the space behind the property. The brief was to create a functional and attractive area for outdoor living and entertaining — and to finish it to a standard that complements the house.
The work started underground. Extensive groundwork and preparation set the levels and sub-base correctly before any paving went down, because on the Isle of Man the preparation is what decides how long an external surface lasts once the weather gets to it. Premium large-format paving was then laid across the terrace, with retaining walls and boundary improvements framing the space and managing the level changes.
Garden access was improved as part of the same job, and the lower garden was landscaped and laid to lawn — tying the new terrace into a clean, finished result across the whole rear of the property.
